Following on from our 4 previous aid runs to Warsaw, we raised funds to take another 2 vehicles of aid but this time our destination was to be Lviv, Ukraine.
The Polish lorry drivers were on strike and had blockaded the border crossing but were letting aid through with a police escort.
14 hours later we had cleared customs and immigration, which left us 30 mins to drive the 15 miles to our hotel before the nighttime curfew. Unfortunately the roads were like this! We made it with a couple of minutes to spare.
On the route to Lviv, even this far from the front lines, there were plenty of reminders that the coutry is at war.
And even more poignantly...
The next morning we arrived in the beautiful city of Lviv.
And we finally arrived at our destination.
We unloaded the 2 vehicles into the depot run by local Rotary Clubs.
Fortunately there was plenty of help on hand.
