Following on from our trip to Lviv last December we decided to leave a little earlier this year to see if we could beat the snow and extreme cold of a Ukrainian winter. We set off on the 3rd November carrying 122 Xmas presents for orphans and nearly 1,5 tonnes of thermal clothing and medical aid.
A huge thank you to Sean of Big CC Racing for offering us the use of his van when he heard our lorry had broken down.
The Tim James Partnership very generously once again donated towards the trip costs. A big thank you to them.
Transferring 1.2 tonnes of thermal clothing and medical aid from the lorry to the van took some time and effort.
Volunteers at Catshill Village Hall wrapping and labelling the 122 Xmas presents they had kindly collected and donated to us.
Judd Medical once again very generously donated medical aid as well as funding the majority of our fuel costs for the trip.
Just our bags and some food to load and then we are off.
By the end of day 2 we were nearly through Germany.
After a remarkably easy border crossing into Ukraine, it was a short drive to the depot in Lviv where we unloaded.
Several days later it was good to see the ferry ready to take us back home.
